Celebrating 25 years of laughter, tears and musical masterpieces with the Gimquat
You know that a show resonates with audiences when it is still in high demand 25 years after its premiere. How the Gimquat Found her Song premiered on October 27, 1991 with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony under the baton of Mario Duschenes. That's right, the father of our Artistic Director Peter Duschenes.
Since its debut, the Gimquat has enthralled more than a quarter of a million audience members on her musical quest for identity. During this momentous season, we performed the show with five different orchestras, for a total of 10 shows and 10,724 spectators. That's a lot of birthday cake!
Thank you to everyone who celebrated right along with us, and here's to 25 more years of performing this timeless and poignant production.
